Canyon Chapel in 1955 Who We Are This year has been an exciting year here at Canyonville Academy. There have been many wonderful opportunities here at the school as we have focused on foundation building and focusing on who we are – a College Preparatory Christian Boarding School. It has also been an impactful year for our young people, as we introduced them to ministry and service. Ministry and Service This year, students have had opportunities to take part of the 30 hour famine, raising funds to help against hunger. We had over 30 participants. That is quite a beginning for a first year! Additionally, for Spring break, our students had opportunity to go on a missions trip to San Francisco, California. 19 students signed up to go help feed the hungry, serve in communities and learn more about ministry! You can read more here Graduation Announced Now, as we rapidly approach the end of the school year, we are delighted to announce that our graduation ceremony will be held in the chapel! Did you know that the last graduation to be held in the chapel was the class of 1994? After that, graduations were held in the gym. What a honor and joy commemorating who we are by having this wonderful event in the chapel. You Are Invited We invite alumni to cheer with these fine young people the Class of 2019 as they celebrate their success in a time-honored place where many alumni have stood, and where our foundations were established. Seminar Class Travels To Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Students from seminar class began their year of cultural events by seeing the classic Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls” in Ashland. The Sept. 13 play was the first of many events planned for students during the school year. Most students gave the performance a rating of “8 or a 9” on a 10 point scale.

Private School Takes International Student Body Jet Boating!

Private School, Canyonville Christian Academy, takes its international student body jet boating down the dazzling Rogue River and experiences the adventure and beauty of Oregon’s natural wonders! Canyonville Christian Academy is full of life and laughter again as local and international students from all around the world have returned or arrived for the first time at this private school. Everyone at CCA had a very busy and exciting first week of school! During Welcome Weekend, students were warmly greeted by their deans and student ambassadors (student leaders) as they moved into their dorm rooms. They also met with faculty and staff over BBQ lunch and dinners prepared by the school. On Sunday morning, Canyonville Christian Academy had a chapel service on the gym lawn and later that evening the dorms had a meeting in the chapel. Throughout the weekend, students settled into their dorms, familiarized themselves with the campus, and made many new friends! Monday quickly came around and it was time to start classes! During this week of school, students went to class, took placements tests, and talked with teachers to decide what class schedule was best for them. And before CCA knew it; Friday had arrived! Every year at the end of the first week of school, this private school takes its students on an all school event. This year Canyonville Christian Academy students went jet boating down the Rogue River! It was a beautiful, cool Oregon morning when the school arrived at the river. Students were split up between two jet boats. Everyone was excited but a bit timid as the jet boats gently set off down the river. The school enjoyed views of lovely houses and scenery. They also saw wildlife such as two bald eagles, the national emblem of the United States, and many fishermen, one of whom the students witnessed catching a large fish! The further down the river...
