With 2 basketballs games this past weekend, Canyonville Christian Academy Pilots experienced loss and wins. January 22, 2016 Pilots came up short versus Lost River Simon Mao and Andrew Graves poured through a combined 21 points but it was not enough to overcome a strong Lost River team on January 22. The final score of the home game was 50-37. CCA is now 7-7 on the season. January 23, 2016 Pilots Dominate Crow Cougars Five CCA Pilots scored in double figures as the boys team blew by Crow High School with an 82-48 score. The January 23 home game say the Pilots jump off to a 26-10 first quarter advantage. Meanwhile, the CCA girls made a good showing against Crow in a 35-38 loss.

Pilots Capture League Victory!

The Canyonville Christian Academy boys basketball team edged Riddle High School in a closely contested 69-64 game. This was the second consecutive conference win for the team and improved their season record to 7-6. In their January 19th game at Riddle, the CCA’s girls were unable to hold a halftime lead and fell to a 34-30 score.

BOYS PICK UP ANOTHER WIN

Canyonville Christian Academy‘s boys’ basketball team recorded their fourth win of the young season by topping the South Umpqua(4A) JVs by a 70-51 score. The Pilots used a 29 point second quarter to pull ahead of the Lancers in the December 15th home game. Destin Masoni and Brian Ng Led Canyonville Christian Academy team with a total of 40 points. In the girls competition, CCA fell short by a 25-48 score.

BOYS, GIRLS NOTCH BASKETBALL WINS

Canyonville Christian Academy‘s boys’ basketball team picked up an overtime win in the third place of the Redding Christian Holiday Tournament. The final score of the December 12th game was 63-61 over the Triad Timberwolves of Klamath Falls. The Pilot girls picked up their second win of the young season by topping the Dunsmuir (California) High School girls by a 48-30 score. Well done Pilots!

Soccer Team Tops Rogue River

Canyonville Christian Academy’s soccer team posted a comfortable 7-2 win over the Rogue River Chieftans October 7. The soccer victory moved the Pilots into a tie for the number-three ranking in league play and improved on a one-point win over Rogue River earlier in the season. In other sports action, Canyonville Christian Academy’s volleyball girls got a 25-21 win over Riddle in game two of their October 6 match. Hower, the Riddle Irish won the match by a 3-1 score. Caleb Reimer led the cross country team at the Regis/Stayton Invitational with a time of 18:50 on October 1. Reimer was 31st in the varsity field of nearly 200 runners with the best mark by a Pilot runner this season.

PILOTS LOSE A PAIR OF CLOSE GAMES

The Canyonville Christian Academy boy’s basketball team came oh-so-close in two league games the last week of January. In a home game with the Riddle, the Pilots came from six points down in the final minute of play to tie the game, only to see it slip away on a pair of free throws by the Irish in the final two seconds. CCA then played traditional league power-house Oakland on their floor. The Pilots were within just one point of the Oakers at halftime but fell short by a final score of 51-41.

Pilot Boys Lose a Pair of Close Games

Canyonville Christian Academy‘s boys’ basketball team opened league play January 8 with a 45-59 loss at Riddle. The teams were tied at halftime but the Pilots gave up 23 points to the Irish in the 3rd quarter. In their second conference game, CCA was within just two buckets of the Crow Cougars with a quarter to play. However, the Pilots were unable to close the margin and lost by a final score of 66-57. Ivan Sandrali poured in a total of 45 points in the first two league games of the season. The girls’ basketball team also came up short in their first pair of games in 2015.Riddle topped the Pilot gals 47-31, while Crow was victorious 67-41.

Girls’ Basketball Team Improves to 3-1

Canyonville Christian Academy’s girl Pilots basketball team got their third win of the young season Dec. 9 by a 33-21 margin over the Days Creek Wolves. The Pilot boys (2-2) ran up against a strong press and fell to Days Creek 26-37.

CCA/CBA 2015 Alumni Reunion Date Set

May 30 & 31 have been named as the dates for the 2015 Canyonville Christian Academy Alumni Reunion. Activities will get underway at 1 p.m. on Saturday the 30th following the school graduation. A banquet will follow on Saturday evening with a brunch and chapel winding up events on Sunday the 31st. CCA particularly welcomes students from the “10-Year Classes” (1945, 1955, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005), but all alumni and former staff are welcome at reunions. There will be no charge for any of the events.

CBA/CCA Alumni Reunion – Celebrating 90 Years Of Education!

Can you believe it? This is Canyonville Christian Academy’s 90th year as a private high school! From it’s small beginnings in 1924 to today, this Christian boarding school has been a blessing to MANY and continues to reach out even further – to the NATIONS! What a legacy to share! Dad Shaffer would be amazed to see such a diverse group of international students on campus today, as would Bob Shaffer! Esther Shaffer has been really enjoying these wonderful students from all over the world and she continues to cheer for them at their basketball games! Each year, Esther also enjoys watching young ladies “walk out” from Hinn Hall at CCA’s favorite event – JSB. She enjoys viewing all the gorgeous girls in their beautiful dresses with smiles on their faces while young men walk up to meet them in their stylish suits! Roger Shaffer continues to teach two sections of Seminar class. His special class introduces students to the basics of the stock market, he also takes students to various Symphony’s and Opera’s, Art Museums, Plays, NFL Football games, NBA Basketball games, continuing to enhance their knowledge on culture (all part of Seminar class). Roger also quietly maintains different area’s of the school grounds in the early mornings and enjoys seeing the wildlife on campus. You, as alumni have helped make all this happen! Each year as more students graduate, there are more memories made here at Canyonville Christian Academy. So many graduates say they miss the campus, miss the teachers and the close family feelings they found while here.
