CCA Relay Team

In the first two track meets of the young 2013 season, CCA’s relay teams are off to a good start. Both boys and girls 400 meter and 1600 meter baton passers have been near the front in their races and and have posted excellent early season marks.

The best individual effort posted thus far was by junior Jack Yoo in the triple jump (37-6 1/2) with high finishes in both meets. In overall team standings, the top CCA finish was a third place by the girls in a 12-team meet at Glide.

  1. BIG EAST 1000m Champ Tim Bennatan and the IC4A mile champion Joe Clark headline a mid-distance group that has depth and quality. Alex Bennatan was one move away from a conference title himself in the 800 and can range to the mile, while George Mason transfer Alex Levine scored as a freshman in the IC4A 1000 and looks to move into the mile as well. Sophomore James Agati was a BIG EAST scorer in the 1000m last winter and had a great cross country season, while junior Paul DeSalvo could be the next in a long line of sub 1:50 800m runners. Freshmen AJ Chavez and Robert Rhodes both ran 800’s under 1:51 in high school, with Rhodes finishing third at the National Scholastic while anchoring the National Championship 4×400 and 4×800 teams.
