PILOTS WIN 4-WAY AT RIDDLE

The Canyonville Christian Academy boys’ track team won six of the eight flat running events on their way to a first place team finish at the Riddle High School meet April 16. The Pilots edged Riddle in the team standings 177-162 with Days Creek and Glendale trailing. In addition to dominating the boys’ running events, the Pilots also got wins in both the boys’ and girls’ long jump competition. On April 19 the CCA track teams traveled to the University of Oregon to see the national champion Oregon Duck in action.

MIGNONNE HIRWA MWIZA WINS OREGON STOCK GAME

First place out of more than 300 entries from Oregon high schools went to Mignonne in the spring statewide investing competition. Canyonville Christian Academy entrants Grace Tuan and Luigi Van Mol also brought home the next two places. Awards will be presented to the winners at a Portland banquet in May.

Christian Academy Basketball Team Qualifies For State

The 2014 state playoffs for Canyonville Christian Academy’s boys basketball team get underway March 1. The first round game sees the Pilots as the visiting squad against a very strong team from Myrtle Point. Winner of this game moves on to the “final eight” competition in Pendleton; loser’s season ends. CCA (16-6) qualified to move on to the OSAA playoffs with a 70-48 district tournament win over Oakridge for third place . The Pilots fell one point short of a higher seed in a 37-38 loss to Days Creek.

Pilot Boys 2nd, Girls 3rd at Tom Pappas Invitational

CCA’s track teams produced a solid showing at the sever-school invitational meet held at Glendale on May 2nd. Even winners included Yack Yoo (triple jump) and a sweep by the girls’ relay team (400 and 1600 meters)

Boys’ Soccer Shutout Win

CCA’s boys’ soccer team opened the season with a 3-0 victory over Milo Adventist Academy on September 12th. Three different Pilots scored goals in the shutout win: Chris Lee, Serge Sadrall and Emanuel Stand.
