Canyonville Christian Academy offers the opportunity for juniors and seniors to gain leadership experience and skills through its Ambassador program.  This program must be applied for and lasts throughout the school year. Academic performance, leadership qualities, and dorm and classroom behavior are all considered when selecting students for leadership positions.

The student leaders of this private school are called Ambassadors.  Ambassadors are representatives of the school and spokesmen for their fellow students.  They are given several responsibilities throughout the school year.  In the dorms, the student leader’s role is similar to that of a Resident Assistant at a university.  A few of their responsibilities include creating community within the dorms, helping the deans (houseparents) facilitate dorm duties, being a resource for students who have questions about school life and academics, and helping set up for school events.

Through Canyonville Christian Academy’s Ambassador Program, students achieve multicultural leadership experience and acquire skills that will prepare them for college.  Ambassadors learn how to effectively build relationships, communicate, and work with students from all around the world.  They also learn time management, dedication, reliability, and hard work.  By fulfilling an Ambassador’s duties, students show colleges that they can perform on an academic level while staying involved and serving in a leadership role.

Training Student Leaders

Canyonville Christian Academy desires for its student leaders to be servant leaders; people of integrity who lead by example and service.

Ambassadors are mentored by and build personal relationships with their deans and other faculty and staff members.  These mentors are dedicated to helping each Ambassador in the development of their character and skills. CCA aspires for every Ambassador to grow in the leadership qualities of responsibility, teachability, honesty, empathy, kindness, and respect; to be students who live and work with passioncommitment, and determination, and to accept guidance and seek self-improvement.

This week the Ambassadors for the 2017-2018 school year flew to Canyonville Christian Academy from all around the world (Hong Kong, Japan, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Korea, Taiwan, U.S.)!  They arrived a week before the rest of our student body for training and relationship building.  CCA’s student leaders traveled to Lincoln City, Oregon with their Deans and stayed at a lake house for two nights.  They went kayaking, canoeing, tubing, swimming, and paddle boarding.  They also went to the Oregon coast and had a great time getting to know their Deans and fellow Ambassadors.

The Ambassadors have now returned to CCA and are spending the next few days helping prepare the campus for the new school year.  They are hard workers and show great teamwork.  We are very proud of them and look forward to seeing them grow and lead throughout this 2017/18 school year at Canyonville Christian Academy!
