Track Team Qualifies Six Athletes For State

The Pilot boys swept the 100, 200, 400, and 800 meter events at the 2016 Mountain View Conference championship track meet. In addition to dominating the short/flat races, the boys also advanced additional team members to state in the 100, 1500, 1500, 1600 relay, and long jump.

Calob Reimer 400, 800, 1600 relay
Diego Rubi 1500, 1600 relay
Samuel Kim Long Jump
Sebastian Fajardo 1600 relay
In the team standings, the boys finished the meet in 3rd place and the girls were ranked 8th. Top competitor for the girls’ team was Esther Cyubahiro who placed 3rd in the triple jump.
The OSAA State 2A track meet will be held May 19 and 20 at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene, site of this year’s Olympic Trails for track and field.
