Basketball at Canyonville Christian Academy is one of our most exciting sports!
Most years, around 25 boys and 15 girls participate on the boys’ and girls’ varsity and junior varsity teams. The home games are well-attended by the student body, which builds school pride and community!
CCA is a member of the OSAA and the Mountain View Conference. In 2014, the varsity boys’ team qualified for the 2 A State Tournament. The team is generally very competitive, and highlights of the season include a home tournament in December and Homecoming and Senior Night in February.
We hope you can come attend a CCA basketball game sometime in the near future. You will enjoy watching our athletes give their best and exhibit teamwork as they compete at a high level!

Meet Our Coaches
Noel Schaak is in his 13th year coaching boys’ varsity basketball at Canyonville Christian Academy and his 19th overall.
Previously, he coached at Bethesda Christian high school in Indiana and at Multnomah University in Portland. Noel has a passion for working with high school students and teaching them the discipline and fundamentals that the game of basketball requires.
Mike Stansberry has played basketball for over twenty years. He played in college as a point guard and soon after found himself with his first coaching job. Mike has since coached boys and girls from 7th grade through High School varsity.
He loves to coach because he remembers the tremendous impact that his High school coach had on him. He hopes to build relationships that will last a lifetime. He also loves to teach students about knowing their role and working within a team, supporting leadership, perseverance, and so much more.
