Swine Flu - Wednesday, April 29, 2009
Canyonville Christian Academy is following the Swine Flu situation carefully. While Swine flu has been detected in northern Oregon, the cases are under control and all are expected to recover. There have been no cases identified in Canyonville or at CCA. Just in case, we have already taken the following actions:
- Communicated with local Douglas County health officials on proper preparation should the Swine Flu come to Oregon.
- Spoken with local doctors and health care professionals on their preparation for the Swine Flu regarding testing and medicine.
- Ordered masks and flu medicines should the Swine Flu come to Oregon.
- Held a meeting with staff and students on proper hygiene and hand washing.
- Provided hand sanitizers at various places on the CCA campus.
- We are monitoring any students who show signs of fever and logging to see if any are having a fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.3 degrees Celsius) which may be a symptom of the Swine Flu.
CCA will keep watch on the situation and inform you if any changes take place.
